Class Description
Beginning Crochet for Kids (ages 8 - 16) Class Description: Come explore the world of crochet and go home with a new, fun skill to create more amazing projects to impress and give to your family and friends. You and your classmates will each work at your own pace while leaning how to: hold your hooks and yarn, start with a slip knot and chains, create basic stitches (single crochet and if ready, how to double crochet), identify and count stitches, figure out where to insert the hook and identify the direction of yarn overs, turn your work and keep even edges, add more yarn (changing colors), and finish your piece. We will be making a narrow scarf suitable for a favorite stuffy OR a bookmark for your favorite book. We will also discuss other projects you can now make as a new crocheter! Length: 3 hours Experience Level Required: NONE Materials Fee: Included Materials Provided by Instructor: extensive handouts Materials Provided by All Wound Up: 150 yards of Sarasota Chunky Splash Yarn,, size I crochet hook, three stitch markers, Size 16 tapestry needle, and tape measure Materials Student Brings: scissors

Masks are welcomed and encouraged. Please do not attend class if you are feeling unwell. Service animals only. Please leave pets at home. Age requirements Everyone must be at least 16 to take the adult classes. Children’s classes start at age 8. Parents must sign a Liability Waiver AND be available during the scheduled class times for contact in the event of an emergency or student disruption. Refunds will not be given if students are asked to leave due to behavior. Space limitations exist for all classes. We try to keep our class sizes small to ensure each student gets personalized attention. For this reason, we require students to register for our classes via our website, prior to 72 hours in advance. Cancellations Class cancellations must be made up to 72 hours (3 days) before the first class is held. We cannot offer refunds for cancellations that take place within 72 hours prior to the start of class. This is to be fair to students and our instructors. We will have closed the class registration and provided the instructor with the final headcount. No refund will be issued for sessions not attended and no refund will be issued after classes have started. No make-up sessions for missed classes unless due to instructor illness or inclement weather. Materials We request that yarn be purchased at All Wound Up Yarn Shop for all classes. You may bring your own needles and notions, however, we do have plenty of supplies available for purchase if needed. Materials are not included unless specified.
