Class Description
Bulky Weight Toe-Up Socks with Magic Loop Method Class Description: Ready to knit your first pair of socks, try a new sock construction method, or knit socks on one long circular needle instead of double points? Then this class is for you. We will be using bulky yarn to get through the knitting of the sock sections quicker within the time limits of the class. We will begin at the toe with Judy’s Magic Cast-On, create the toe bed with Make 1 increases, knit the foot, increase stitches for the gusset, turn the heal, decrease stitches to the original stitch count, knit a small leg section and cuff, and finally finish with a stretchy bind off. Along the way we will discuss many tips and tricks including sizing and fit and avoiding laddering. After completing this bulky sock you will know all the steps to completing socks toe up and can move on to other yarn weights OR make more bulky sets for family and friends. They make great gifts!!! Length: 3 hours Experience Level Required: know how to knit and purl in the round Materials Provided by Instructor: handouts and pattern Materials Student Brings: US size 10.5 circular needles, (32” for magic loop) OR needles to meet gauge of 14 stitches per 4" *You may want to bring additional sizes in order to meet the required gauge Approximately 120 yards of bulky weight yarn *Recommend at least 2 skeins of Malabrigo Chunky to start with. May need an additional skein in order to make a pair of socks depending on personal foot size. Scissors, Tapestry needle, Stitch markers, Tape measure **Students will be eligible for a 10% discount on yarn and needle purchases the day of the class

Masks are welcomed and encouraged. Please do not attend class if you are feeling unwell. Service animals only. Please leave pets at home. Age requirements Everyone must be at least 16 to take the adult classes. Children’s classes start at age 8. Parents must sign a Liability Waiver AND be available during the scheduled class times for contact in the event of an emergency or student disruption. Refunds will not be given if students are asked to leave due to behavior. Space limitations exist for all classes. We try to keep our class sizes small to ensure each student gets personalized attention. For this reason, we require students to register for our classes via our website, prior to 72 hours in advance. Cancellations Class cancellations must be made up to 72 hours (3 days) before the first class is held. We cannot offer refunds for cancellations that take place within 72 hours prior to the start of class. This is to be fair to students and our instructors. We will have closed the class registration and provided the instructor with the final headcount. No refund will be issued for sessions not attended and no refund will be issued after classes have started. No make-up sessions for missed classes unless due to instructor illness or inclement weather. Materials We request that yarn be purchased at All Wound Up Yarn Shop for all classes. You may bring your own needles and notions, however, we do have plenty of supplies available for purchase if needed. Materials are not included unless specified.
